Binance CEO Teng Sees ‘Landmark’ Year as Crypto Goes Mainstream
This is shaping up to be a “landmark year” for the crypto industry, Binance Holdings Ltd. CEO Richard Teng said, thanks to increasing regulatory clarity, more mainstream adoption and the launch of Bitcoin-linked exchange-traded funds.
Customer assets on the Binance cryptocurrency exchange grew by $42 billion in 2024 as cryptocurrency prices recovered, Teng said in an interview on Thursday. Binance reached 200 million registered users this month, although Teng declined to say how many of them were actively trading on the platform. A company spokesperson added that monthly active users increased 12.5% from February to May.
