Ecobank Group launches Fintech Challenge 2024 with a prize of $50,000
Registrations are open for the seventh edition of the Ecobank Fintech Challenge
Pan-African financial services group Ecobank has invited applications for the seventh edition of its Fintech Challenge. The annual competition invites early-stage and mature fintech startups to collaborate with Ecobank. The prize is $50,000 and the chance to expand your solutions across Ecobank’s network covering 35 African countries.
Fintech startups still face several challenges, including achieving scale, navigating an uncertain regulatory environment and a shortage of funding. The Ecobank Fintech Challenge offers fintech entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to address these challenges. It doesn’t just offer financial rewards. It also provides Ecobank’s expertise in diversified market operations. And the opportunity to expand its pan-African footprint and international presence like France.
“Building partnerships with fintechs is a catalyst for promoting financial inclusion in Africa. At Ecobank, we prioritize fintechs in our growth, transformation and returns strategy,” said Jeremy Awori, Ecobank Group Chief Executive Officer. “We have enhanced this new edition of the Ecobank Fintech Challenge to continue to provide fintech entrepreneurs with a prime platform to showcase innovative solutions, while creating unprecedented opportunities for growth and expansion across 35 markets in Africa.”
Ecobank reports that last year’s competition attracted 1,490 truly high-quality entries. This underlines the importance of the pan-African challenge. Successful candidates who reach the final and awards ceremony in October will have the chance to participate in the coveted Ecobank Fintech Fellowship programme. Since inception, 60 fintech startups have been inducted into the Ecobank Fintech Fellowship.
The Ecobank Fintech Challenge is designed in collaboration with the international consultancy Konfidants.
The deadline for registrations is July 7, 2024.
