June at the Fintech Times: diversity, equity and inclusion
There’s a new monthly theme here at The Fintech Times and this June we’ll be delving into the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) theme.
DEI seems more relevant than ever. No longer just a trending topic, but an essential consideration not only for your business operations but also for your offering. The fintech sector is known for its innovative and agile reputation, yet it still faces a significant diversity problem that threatens to stunt its growth and halt the movement of innovation.
In the UK, women hold just 30% of fintech jobs and 17% of senior leadership roles, and ethnic minorities are significantly underrepresented. Disability representation is even more lacking, with disabled or neurodivergent individuals often not even getting a glimpse.
This month we’ll explore what DEI really means for fintechs and what exactly needs to be done to create an inclusive and accessible industry that we can all be proud of.
From discovering real-life stories about the importance of feeling included, as well as policies that have implemented real grassroots change: we spoke to industry leaders to learn more about how they are supporting DEI and paving the way for the future.
