Somali Fintech Hafide Joins UNDP’s Timbuktoo Accelerator

Hafide Accounting, a Somaliland-based startup, has been selected for the renowned Timbuktoo Africa Fintech Accelerator in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Accelerator is the United Nations Development Programme’s initiative to stimulate Africa’s innovation ecosystem by supporting and investing in Africa’s best talent through 8 thematic hubs in Timbuktu in 8 countries, 54 University Innovation Pods across Africa and the availability of funding.
Somali firm Hafide Accounting has been chosen from over 800 applicants to participate in the elite Timbuktoo Fintech Accelerator program in Lagos.
According to Fig Insights, a digital platform focused on economic and business insights in East Africa, this indicates the growing creativity and ingenuity in the region’s startup ecosystem.

He further said that the choice of Hafide Accounting demonstrates the high level of entrepreneurship and technological expertise in countries like Somaliland, which are rapidly becoming hotbeds of startup activity and digital change in Africa.
