Stellar Partners with SheFi to Promote Women in Blockchain

The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is building great progress to ensure equitable access to the global financial system.
Focusing on providing goods and services to underbanked and unbanked groups, SDF hopes to provide tailored solutions for diverse communities. Given the glaring gender disparity in the tech and finance sectors, this goal becomes even more important.
Addressing Gender Gaps in Finance and Technology
The World Economic Forum estimates that 55% of the world’s unbanked are women. Women must lead the way in creating solutions if we are to adequately meet the financial needs of over a billion unbanked women. However, the current picture clearly indicates an imbalance.

Women-started companies received just 2% of venture capital funding awarded in 2023. In the Web3 era, women represent only 27% of the workforce, and only 13% of founding teams include at least one woman.
A key effort of the SDF’s support activities is Star Network is the Stellar Community Fund (SCF). SCF has granted nearly $13 million in XLM in 2023 alone; this year it is expected to surpass that total.
SDF ensures that the initiatives it supports have practical uses that create good change in industries and people at large by encouraging a diverse pipeline of candidates. This year, the Ecosystem Growth team is committed to raising Stellar builders and gender diversity among SCF winners.
Enter SheFi: Empowering Women on Web3
SDF partners with companies like SheFi to further its commitment to gender diversity. SheFi’s mission is to “empower women through education, experimentation, and community.”
Their eight-week online courses and events around the world, including the SheFi Summit in Brussels, aim to build player skills in Web3.
The female-led SheFi booth served as inspiration for SDF partnership with SheFi, which began at ETH Denver 2024. Since then, several SDF women have enrolled in SheFi’s learning programs.
Real impact of stars
Numerous activities demonstrate Stellar’s dedication to practical use cases. Ecosystem Growth Senior Manager Anke Liu will deliver the keynote address at the SheFi Summit on the topic “Are there real use cases for Blockchain?” Her talk will highlight developers and teams, especially those started and led by women who are creating important Stellar network products.
Meanwhile, Stellar’s native currency, XLM, is currently worth around $100,000, according to CoinMarketCap. $0.09301A 1.16% increase in the last 24 hours and an uptrend of 2.97% in the last week.
On the other hand, strategic alliances such as the one with Zetta Blockaimed at improving Web3 development through superior data and analytics technologies, supports this favorable market performance.
