The former head of AI at Deutsche Bank’s London-based fintech has built a new “Lovecraftian” AI system.
Egor Kraev, country manager for Switzerland and responsible TO THE to payments fintech Wise, he doesn’t keep all of his Artificial intelligence exploits internally. He recently announced himself as the founder of a new open source AI framework and has drawn unique inspiration into his branding.

Kraev’s new creation, Motleycrew.ai, is designed to combine and integrate AI agents into a workflow. Agents, if you don’t know, are essentially programs within LLMs that optimize them for specific tasks in various fields, calling in relevant external data or sifting through irrelevant data internally. Github data suggests that work on the project began in April.
The Motleycrew.ai website is full of Lovecraftian influence. Abundant eyeballs and tentacles represent knowledge and “the soft reality in which we are trying to capture it”, respectively.
Kraev’s background contains much less cosmic horror. She worked inside algorithmic trading, initially as a quant for four years at UBS, then moved to Deutsche Bank, eventually becoming global co-head of business architecture in e-commerce markets. There are already companies in this space looking to specialize their AI robots. Hedge fund Balyasny, for example, developed ‘BAM ChatGPT‘ for its staff, designed to “proactively promote relevant information.”
