Western New England University Launches First FinTech + AI Startup Pitch Series
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Western New England University just launched its first FinTech and AI Startup Launch Series, with a $75,000 grant from MassMutual.

The FinTech + AI 413 Startup Pitch Series is designed to connect college students and local entrepreneurs with innovative startup ideas with the training and resources needed to bring those ideas to life.
This innovative program is designed to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in financial technology and artificial intelligence. This initiative is set to make a significant contribution to the economic landscape of Western Massachusetts by providing an opportunity
so that participants can channel their academic scholarship into entrepreneurial ventures using some of the latest AI technologies and ideas.
Western New England University associate professor of economics Charles Mutiqwe told 22News, “They might just have an idea and how do you turn that idea into a business? You know, with the help that you’re given, the resources, the tools, the mentorship, the expertise.”
The goal of this program is to prepare students for the future. Mutigwe emphasized the University’s commitment to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship and invited other partners to join the effort.
