Wilmington-based nCino Joins CNBC’s List of World’s Best Fintech Companies
A Wilmington firm has compiled a list of the world’s top fintech, or financial technology, companies.
nCino, a Wilmington-based company that sells cloud computing software to banks, was one of the 250 “top” fintech companies on a list published by CNBC on Tuesday.
More than 2,000 companies were considered for the list, which is published in alphabetical order and compiled by CNBC and market research firm Statista.
“We are honored to be included in the CNBC and Statista ‘World’s Top Fintech Companies 2024’ awards list,” nCino wrote on its company Facebook page. “From 2,000 eligible companies, nCino was selected for its positive financial position and innovative impact in the markets we serve. Thank you to our customers, employees, and partners for helping us get this far!”
According to the article, companies could apply for inclusion on their own, but were also evaluated by Statista using key performance indicators (KPIs), both “overall KPIs” and KPIs specific to one of eight business categories the companies fell into: alternative finance; banking solutions; business process solutions; digital assets; financial planning; neobanking; payments; and wealth technology.
nCino, founded in 2011, fell into the banking solutions category.
A list article notes that “global venture funding in fintech has fallen sharply from the sector’s heyday in 2020 and 2021, and experts say the market is in a new normal, with valuations correcting from unsustainable highs.”
